چکیده

Effects of amino acids and nitrogen on plant regrowth or recovery from drought stress remain largely unknown. The objectives this study were to examine how gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA) proline, alone in combination, inorganic [ammonium nitrate (NN)] may differentially affect turf performance during rewatering, determine which specific endogenous regulated by GABA, NN priming associated with tolerance postdrought recuperation cool-season grass species. Creeping bentgrass ( Agrostis stolonifera cv. Penncross) planted porous ceramic fritted clay medium exposed well-watered conditions withholding irrigation for 21 days growth chambers. Plants treated water (untreated control), proline through foliar spray before every 7 the 21-day period. For recovery, at treatment, plants rewatered 14 return soil content prestress levels. GABA combination maintained higher quality (TQ), dark green color index (DGCI), stolon length stress, whereas proline-treated also leaf relative (RWC) as well longer rewatering. TQ RWC had improved percent canopy cover, DGCI, Accumulation under including alanine, creeping have contributed enhancement regrowth. Nitrogen-enhanced accumulation glutamic played a role active assimilation subsequent Results indicate that mainly effective promoting while was rapid potential activation metabolism. Endogenous acids, acid, be used biomarkers select drought-tolerant biostimulant components improvement poststress turfgrass

Elevated cytokinin content in ipt transgenic creeping bentgrass promotes drought tolerance through regulating metabolite accumulation

Increased endogenous plant cytokinin (CK) content through transformation with an adenine isopentyl transferase (ipt) gene has been associated with improved plant drought tolerance. The objective of this study is to determine metabolic changes associated with elevated CK production in ipt transgenic creeping bentgrass (Agrostis stolonifera L.) with improved drought tolerance. Null transformants ...

Nitrogen Source Impact on Dead Spot (ophiosphaerella Agrostis) Recovery in Creeping Bentgrass

Dead spot is a relatively new disease of creeping bentgrass (Agrostis stolonifera L.) incited by Ophiosphaerella agrostis Dernoeden, M.P.S. Câmara N.R. O’Neill van Berkum et M.E. Palm. Limited information is available with regards to chemical and cultural management strategies for dead spot. Two field studies were designed to evaluate the influence of various fertilizers and iprodione on the re...

Constitutive expression of a miR319 gene alters plant development and enhances salt and drought tolerance in transgenic creeping bentgrass.

MicroRNA319 (miR319) is one of the first characterized and conserved microRNA families in plants and has been demonstrated to target TCP (for TEOSINTE BRANCHED/CYCLOIDEA/PROLIFERATING CELL FACTORS [PCF]) genes encoding plant-specific transcription factors. MiR319 expression is regulated by environmental stimuli, suggesting its involvement in plant stress response, although experimental evidence...

the effect of drought preconditioning on increasing drought stress tolerance in two turfgrass creeping bentgrass and tall fescue

drought preconditioning (dp) is a method of irrigation with low frequency and longer duration, to extend the root system and suppress drought damage in plants. in the present study, the effect of dp for 30 days on increasing tolerance to drought stress in two turfgrass species, creeping bentgrass (agrostis stolonifera cv.palustris) and tall fescue (festuca arundinacea cv. greystone) was investi...
